will give several lessons :
1st lesson: Wednesday 17th of June 2015,

Topics: The many-body problem; many-body systems; mean-field theory; Hartree and
Hartree-Fock methods; Thomas-Fermi and density-functional theory; exact solution models;
Landau quasiparticle; effective mass; self-energy; lifetime; propagators or Green functions;
Feynman diagrams; collective excitations.
2nd lesson: Wednesday 24th of June 2015,
(10h00-12h30, Seminar room SC17)
Topics: Second Quantization; Fock space; Schroedinger, Heisenberg and Dirac
representations; definition of Green function; physical interpretation and relation to
observables; Lehmann representation; spectral function and quasiparticles; renormalization
factor, effective mass and lifetime; momentum distribution; non-interacting Green function.
3rd and 4th lessons : dates still to be determined
Topics: Adiabatic connection; Gell-mann and Low theorem; Wick theorem; Perturbative
expansion and Feynman diagrams.
Self-energy, Polarization and Vertex function; Schwinger-Dyson equations; Hartree-Fock,
ladder, Random-Phase and GW approximations; Linear response; Optical and dielectric
properties; Bethe-Salpeter equation; Relation Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) vs Many-
Body Quantum Field-Theory (MBQFT); relation MBQFT vs density-functional theory (DFT).
